Start with use and construction

A material name alone does not define finished performance. Film thickness, fabric construction, coating, seams and closures all affect the product. State whether you need a lightweight emergency item, everyday raincoat or a jacket and pants set.

Read the material description carefully

The Huayi catalog includes PE, PEVA, EVA, PVC and coated-fabric products. A polyester fabric coated with PVC is a different construction from PVC film. Retain both the fabric and coating information when comparing quotations.

Compare the whole specification

Ask for finished product weight, thickness where applicable, dimensions, packing and sample details. Do not treat product weight in grams as fabric weight in grams per square meter.

Confirm any performance claims

Ask for evidence specific to the product and material if you require a particular waterproof, durability or compliance specification. Avoid inferring environmental or safety claims from the material name alone.
